What are Marks?
Marks are our way of showing appreciation. Like the karma meter, your Marks will show:
(1) how much we like you and your posts,
(2) how much we like your characters,
(3) how much you have done for us.
Yes. If we ask you to do something that is not in the general membership job-description, we will give you the proper amount of Marks (and karma) for the job done. Say you know how to write proboards code, and we need something coded for the board. If we come to you and you are able to fill the order to our satisfaction, we will reward you. That's not the only way to earn Marks, but it was the simplest example I could come up with for services rendered.
How do I earn Marks?
There are several ways to earn Marks. The easiest way is to post. For every post you make, you earn one (1) more Mark.
Other ways you earn Marks:
* Good posts can earn you Marks, but more on this later.
* As mentioned above, if you do something for us, you can earn additional Marks. But please, don't pester us with things you can do for us just to earn Marks. If we need you, we'll come to you.
* When you register as a member here, you will be given a freebie of 5 Marks.
>* For every character submitted, you will earn 2 Marks.
>* For every character approved, you will earn 5 Marks.
> *catch* You are allowed 4 Playing Characters at one time. No more than two of those may be Candidates. Yes, there are ways to earn additional characters, but we'll get to that later.
What do I use Marks for?
Ah. The big question. What will you do with all those Marks once you have them?
Well, the answer is, you can buy things with them. At the time being, we are not allowing characters to be submitted with firelizards. That's right, you are not, and will not be, approved for a firelizard. First, they must be RPd. Second, they must be earned. When firelizard clutched come up available, they will be announced and the prices per egg (per color or random, depending on the size of the clutch, whether it's a gold or green clutch, etc.) will be listed.
Other privileges:
*An extra character. Think you can play more than 4 characters at a time, but don't have the post count to earn any more yet? Save your Marks. We may offer up a deal on an extra character.
*Post immunity, one month. Yes. We have posting requirements. We enforce them. Maybe you don't have any good ideas for posts that month, or you just don't want to post. Save your Marks. We will offer one month's immunity for an amount of Marks.
The Store List will be posted, and edited, for your viewing. The rules of it will be posted with the Store.
