The duties to follow are in no way limited to just these duties. In most cases, the positions mentioned will hold some kind of rank and standing in the BoD. Even if it is not a full BoD spot.

WEYRWOMAN DUTIES
1. In Character, the Weyrwoman's duties are:
* To post and keep the Weyrlife interesting. * To make sure the plotlines are going and keep going. * To make sure the Weyr is running smoothly.
2. Out of character, the Weyrwoman's duties are:
* To advertise for the Weyr and attract new membership. * To welcome any and all new members to the Weyr. * To go through the bronzerider sheets to choose the one that will be right for the Weyr at that time in the event of the next gold flight. * To enforce the OOC rules of the board. While the writer for the gold may not be BoD, s/he is still expected to uphold the integrity of the Weyr. * To come up with plotlines that will attract participation and keep the Weyrlife interesting. * To post IC and make her presence at the Weyr known.
3. For the Hatchings, the Weyrwoman is expected to:
* Advertise the upcoming Hatching, and attract the Candidates to the Weyr.
4. If the Weyrwoman is a member of the BoD, which is generally the case, it makes this a lot easier because the writer has the power to enforce the rules and such. However, in the case the the writer is not on the BoD, some of these things do need to be approved by the BoD as per the rules.
WEYRLEADER
The Weyrleader's duties are much the same as the Weyrwomans. Except for choosing a good Weyrleader, he goes through the sheets and chooses a good Weyrsecond, who will assist him in his duties much the same way as a jr Weyrwoman. He generally chooses someone that he knows, or his own wingsecond for the position, but this is not always the case. He chooses someone he thinks will be able to perform the job duties.
The Weyrleader position, and that of the weyrsecond, are rotational positions depending on which dragon catches the gold in her flight.
CANDIDATEMASTER
The Candidatemaster is generally an older rider, between 30 and 40 turns, who is in utter control of the Candidates. Muahaha!
Seriously though, the Candidatemaster is in charge of the Candidates. S/he teaches them their duties as a rider, makes sure they know their rank and insignia, and what will be expected of them should they become riders.
Out of character, the Candidatemaster is expected to advertise the Weyr, and attract new members as Candidates. The bigger the Weyr grows, the more Hatchings there will be, and the busier the Candidatemaster will be trying to keep track of all of them.
WEYRLINGMASTER
The Weyrlingmaster, like the Candidatemaster, has complete and utter control over the weyrlings. Muahaha!
Seriously though, the Weyrlingmaster is in charge of teaching the weyrlings what they need to know for the next three or more turns while they become familiar with the routine of caring for a dragon as it grows.
The Weyrlingmaster is in charge of coming up with the posts for the lessons that the Weyrlings must attend. This includes, but is in no way limited to:
* Teaching the weyrlings how to mend and take care of their leather. * Teaching the weyrlings the proper way to feed their hatchlings right after Hatching. * Teaching them later how to cut their dragons food into the right size portions for them while they are still growing and unable to get their own food. * Teaching them how to bathe and oil their dragonets properly and efficiently.
HEADWOMAN
The headwoman at the Weyr has the same duties as her counterpart at the Hold. She is in charge of making sure there is enough food made and ready to feed the Weyr, makes sure the Records and inventory of stores are straight and ready for the Weyrwoman, and makes sure the workers under her are kept in line and keep with their duties.
Basically, she makes life easier for the Weyrwoman.
BoD AND ADMIN DUTIES
We as the BoD and Admin have some rules of our own.
For hatchings we are in charge of putting together the dragonets for the Hatching. Keep in mind that dragonets are created, and whichever candidate fits the dragonet will get it. It's completely random, and we try to make our hatchings as real as possible. Remember, there is no going back once the dragon has Impressed on your candidate. Just like in pern, there is no going back.
